Annual Ramadan Food Aid Program
The Islamic Da’wah Council of the Philippines, Inc. has been performing its annual Ramadan Food Aid Program since the 1990s as part of its da’wah and charity initiatives in line with its mission and vision to uplift and empower Filipino Muslims.
Donations from various IDCP Halal-certified companies are distributed to Muslim communities within Metro Manila and nearby provinces every year during the Holy month of Ramadan.
In general, Muslims are encouraged to perform charity during Ramadan as a means of fulfilling religious obligations, purify one’s wealth, and seek spiritual reward.

Qurban Program
The Islamic Da’wah Council of the Philippines, Inc. has been holding its annual Qurban Program during Eid al-Adha since its formation in the 1980s. The IDCP sponsors the livestock to be slaughtered and distributes its meat to Muslim families who are unable to afford fulfilling the religious obligation themselves.
The word “qurban” means sacrifice. In Islam, it is the act of slaughtering Halal-certifieable animals (lamb, goat, sheep, cow, buffalo or camel) during Eid al-Adha with the intention of worshipping Allah (SWT). This act commemorates Prophet Ibrahim’s (peace be upon him) willingness to sacrifice his first born son, Ismail, as commanded by the Almighty. Moved by his piety and obedience, Ismail was spared and the sacrifice was substituted with the slaughter of a ram.
Traditionally, the meat from the qurban is divided into three: a third goes to the family of the one who performs the qurban, a third to their neighbors, and a third as charity to the poor.

Medical Mission Program

Doctors, nurses and other medical professionals, most of whom are former scholars of the IDCP-IDB scholarship program who have graduated and have become practicing professionals, participate in this program as they volunteer their expertise and services to help underprivileged communities wanting medical services.
Aside from receiving free medical check-ups, food and medicine packs donated by IDCP Halal-certified companies are also given to families and individuals who attend the IDCP medical missions.
